The Domination of New England

The Bruins

The Bruins are the team with the lowest chance of a championship this year but that doesn't mean there aren't hopes for a very positive season. The Bruins did a little work of their own in the off season acquiring goalie Manny Fernandez in hopes that he could help Tim Thomas with some of the load but frankly Thomas has not needed any. The team has some promising potential out of young players Patrice Bergeron and Phil Kessel and they also have strong players returning such as Marc Savard and Zdeno Chara. Although they might not like a championship winning team look for them to put forth a strong effort into the playoffs.

The Celtics

The Boston Celtics, a team that dominated the NBA for nearly 15 years have been struggling over the past few seasons. Paul Pierce has had a trouble taking the entire weight of the team on his back. That is why in the off season the Celtics picked up the Sharp Shooter Ray Allen, and arguably the best power forward, Kevin Garnett. Projections from experts of another mediocre changed to potentially winning the Atlantic division. They currently stand 5-0, right at the top. This threesome of stars is going to be hard to beat this season.

The Patriots

The New England Patriots. At this point in time not much can be said about them right now other than they are truly dominating the NFL. 9-0 and the last win was against the Colts; the Pats biggest rival. With new additions Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Donte Stallworth at the Wide Receiver positions it has made elite QB Tom Brady even better than before, if that was possible. Brady is currently on pace to set the Touchdowns record and has already set the record for most consecutive game with three Touchdown passes. This is one of the best NFL teams put together ever and they leave us with one question right now. Can the patriots be stopped?

The Red Sox

The Red Sox had a great season, finishing first in the AL East with a record of 96-66. Which was tied for the best record in baseball. With sluggers David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez and Mike Lowell, the offense produced massive numbers. The pitching staff lead by Josh Beckett (20 wins) was among the best in the entire league and rookies Jacoby Ellsbury, and Dustin Pedroia far exceeded expectations. The comeback against Cleveland and the sweep of the Rockies in the playoffs puts the season in prospective as one of the best the Sox have ever had.

If your a sports fan living in New England, you probably couldn't be happier right now. The Red Sox just won the World Series for the second time in 4 years. The Patriots are 9-0 coming off a huge win against the Colts, The Celtics have the best team since Larry Bird was around and even the Bruins are showing signs of a very positive season. The 2007-2008 season could potentially go down as one of the greatest New England has ever seen.
